| Snowmass Elite Legend is everything one could hope for in an elite huacaya Herdsire! A son of the legendary Snowmass Quechua, EL combines those qualities so often found in several alpacas all into one superb package: density, fineness, and uniformity the likes of which are rarely seen together, combined with a high propensity to pass those traits on to his progeny. The extreme fineness, density, and uniformity of Snowmass Elite Legend added to the already extremely low CV, and high curv vaules of Red Granites Pheobe and her amazing Snowmass Sub-Zero lineage, created a male worth the wait. This breeding was done for prepotency in lasting uniformity fineness throughout the alpacas life. Seeing as his 2-year-old histogram reads a micron number of 16.9, SD 3.2, CV 19.1, and %>30 of 0.4, we can say this was a very succesful breeding for prepotency.
His EPDs are even more impressive. His 2021 EPDs show that he is the 191 male of 28,374 males for SDAFD. With his vaule for SDAFD being -0.7 this shows that on the average, his offspring will have more uniform fiber diameter than the breed average.
Elite Legend is no longer breeding due to him no longer being able to produce semen….We expect Pika to start breeding for us early spring of 2022, he will be open to outside breedings!
