At just shy of 9-months-old Pascal was labeled a “keeper” due to his extreme traits - that statement has certainly stayed true!

An upstanding Futurity Color Champion Herdsire with a lineage packed to the brim of outstanding genetics of COLOR! He is one of those males that you get really excited about, and rightly so. It is with males like this that the long time of gestation for an alpaca is almost unbearable!

Red Granites Pascal comes from two high-end breeding lines meshed into one pedigree. His three-time supreme champion sire, Red Granites Val D Lsere - who is arguably the best son of Snowmass Mr Sizlin Rose, the 2016 Futurity Herdsire of the Year winner in the Large Breeder Division and his dam, Mountain Sky’s Secret Passion a direct daughter of Wolf Den’s Dark Secret. Daughters of Dark Secret are rare to acquire due to the high-interest in them and the keeping of genetic lines by his owners, we were lucky when Secret Passion was offered for sale at auction. For those who do not know, Dark Secret is the sire of AutumnSun’s Black Maelstrom, a 13-time Black Champion sire who is highly sought after. Pascal is the first cross of these genetics and he is everything one would hope for!

The fleece characteristics are all that one could hope for from his famous ancestors. It displays his sire’s legendary brightness, is fine, has incredible density, is uniform in color and micron and exhibits exceptional length of staple. He has a well-defined high frequency crimp style, which is carried down the length of his staples and is consistent throughout his blanket, extending right into the extremities.

Pascal also took top honors at the 2023 Futurity being named the Black Male Color Champion winner! WOW!

We are so blessed and happy to have this boy and cannot wait to get him working in the Fall of 2023 or Spring of 2024!
