Red Granites Ruby is a striking light fawn female who exemplifies the very best of modern alpaca genetics. She is a product of years of selective breeding focused on consistency, lingering fineness, and elite phenotype—and she wears it well.
Her fleece has a luxurious, buttery-soft handle with a high degree of uniformity across the blanket, down into the extremities, and across the staple—traits highly sought after by discerning breeders and fleece enthusiasts alike. She stands on a correct, well-balanced frame with refined bone and excellent proportions, making her equally suited for the show ring and the foundation herd. Ruby’s confident, feminine presence completes the package—she is the kind of female that makes a long-term impact.
Ruby’s pedigree is laced with depth and diversity, bringing together lines known for their elite fiber characteristics and enduring genetic value. Her sire, Red Granites Bracken By Val D Lsere, is an impressive male with exceptional fleece qualities and upright phenotype. Bracken attracted considerable attention in Europe as a young male, and it’s easy to see why—he combines the powerful genetics of Snowmass Mr Sizlin Rose and Snowmass Val D Lsere with HDF Peruvian Batista, one of Heart’s Desire Farm’s finest-ever foundation females sired by Maple Brook Barnabus. Batista herself was noted for her astonishing retained fineness, posting histogram results like 12.2 microns in year one with a curvature of 62.9, followed by 14.9 in year two, and only 18.8 by year five. Bracken mirrors that performance with a micron increase of just 3.8 microns and only a 0.3 SD shift over three years, Bracken exemplifies the rare trait of lingering fineness—a trait he reliably passes to his progeny...
On the maternal side, Ruby descends from another gem: Red Granites Riveria, one of the few remaining daughters of the late MFI Master At Arms, a male we tragically lost in a cougar attack in May. Riveria brings together the power of MFI Master At Arms, Lionheart's Connagher, and Crescent Moon's Shiftin Gears—all now deceased, but all of whom made an indelible mark on the North American herd. Riveria’s genetic legacy is one of consistent production, strong maternal traits, and deeply embedded fleece quality.
Red Granites Ruby sells with a complimentary, non-transferable maiden breeding to any unrestricted, unrelated Red Granite Ranch herdsire. This is a golden opportunity to take her already strong genetic base and elevate it even further. For this pairing, we highly recommend: AMAF’s Top Gun, an 18-time champion male with east coast genetics, or a CCNF Legionnaire son such as Red Granites Bojangles or Red Granites Aragon, both of whom offer elite longevity and proven show performance well into adulthood.
Red Granites Ruby combines elite genetics, proven production lines, and an undeniable presence—don’t miss the opportunity to make her yours!!
